Exhibitions at Gallery 286

During 2017 we revisited our monochromatic works with the introduction of colour. The works on show explore the transitions between monochrome and selected hues that we are both naturally drawn to. It is through these hues that we reveal an additional bond. We always seem to be drawn to the same range of hues and this has formed and expressed personality, stylistic tastes and an addition to our twinned identity. Samples of monochromatic works on show were selected because they best relate to topical themes in our practice and significant moments that we have shared.

Symmetry throughout the work continues to reference our mirrored identity, one left-handed, one right-handed and themes explore tenderness, sentimentality, and relationships between people and objects.

The exhibition coincides with the launch of ‘HEAVENLY TWINS’, a collection of vintage photographs of twin sisters compiled by Jonathan Ross, with contributions from The Lake Twins, geneticists Sue Malcolm and Jane Hurst, and cultural commentator Mike von Joel.
