Gallery 286 was 10 years old in November 2008. During that period we have held 75 exhibitions, including solo shows by 45 artists, and exhibited work by over 150 artists altogether.

Painters have been the most frequent exhibitors, but we have also shown photography, jewellery, ceramics, and mixed media work of all kinds.

Sculpture by my Artist-in-Residence, Camilla Shivarg, has been a recurrent feature and Gallery 286 has the unique distinction of being the only gallery in the UK to exhibit Holography on a regular basis (17 shows in ten years).

Some artists have only exhibited once but others have returned two, three or even four times, so I guess I must be doing something right.

Usually Christmas Shows at 286 are an opportunity to showcase artists I have encountered in the past 12 months, with a few recidivists to show continuity but, to celebrate our 10th anniversary, this year we will be showing a broad selection of the previous decade's exhibitors - The Earl's Court Irregulars. Just one or two pieces by each artist, to show the diversity of work you can see at 286.

Thanks to all of you who have supported the gallery: Artists, Clients, and Friends (not mutually exclusive categories), I hope you all continue to come and to enjoy what you find here.
