My work is colourful and vivacious and I paint my pots with familiar and recognisable objects with the intention of making the spectator happy.  There is also quite intentionally a bit of nostalgia laced into the designs.

I am always searching for interesting things to collect and a new pot can start with just seeing something that triggers a memory. Using my own personal experiences, I then work with that image to create a ‘flash card’ of emotion.  I want the moment someone sees one of my art works to trigger an upsurge of memories and pleasure, all at once.

I split my life between the South of England and the South of Spain. My workshop and equipment is in Spain. I have a large subterranean cool space to create in and this protects my work to some degree from the intense heat of Andalucía. After several years of trying to make the local clays and oxides work I have ended my struggle with foreign alchemy and now bring all materials, including clay from England.
