I have always enjoyed painting on 'things' as well as paper, canvas etc. I have painted on human and animal bodies, walls, cars, TVs, furniture etc and now I am enjoying painting on lumps of wood I find lying around and old doors. I also like to add things to the paintings - the branches. I am enjoying the process of painting on wood with oil paint and linseed oil, traditional materials. The oil soaks into the wood and becomes part of it  more deeply than paint on a primed surface. I like that.

I am becoming more tuned in to the place my ideas come from. Most of these paintings have been made in a spontaneous way without much preliminary sketching and planning out, sometimes they change during the process of being made. I don't really know what the paintings 'mean'. I prefer the viewer to see what they want to see in them.
